Pang Yao

PhD

Research Fellow

Pang is a Research Fellow at the Clinical Trial Service Unit and Epidemiological Studies Unit (CTSU). His research focuses on quantifying the role of different infectious pathogens in the aetiology of various cancers in the China Kadoorie Biobank (CKB) study.

Pang completed his PhD at the Chinese Academy of Sciences Institute for Nutritional Science, for which he gained extensive training in clinical trials. There, he developed and conducted two clinical trials to systematically assess the genetic and non-genetic factors on vitamin D dose response. Current research interests lie in investigating the skeletal and extra-skeletal health effect of vitamin D, and using observational and genetic epidemiology to understand the aetiology of osteoporotic fractures.
