Baihan Wang

BSc, MSc, PhD

Researcher in Genetic Epidemiology

Baihan joined Oxford Population Health in January 2023 as a researcher in genetic epidemiology. Before joining the department, Baihan obtained a BSc in Psychology at East China Normal University and an MSc in Mental Health Sciences and a PhD in Psychiatric Genetics at UCL Division of Psychiatry.

Baihan’s research involves using the China Kadoorie Biobank as well as other large population biobanks to identify genetic variants affecting proteins of interest that can serve as potential drug targets. Baihan implements statistical methods and analytical pipelines to systematically investigate how those genetic variants affect disease risk factors, levels in the blood of many different proteins and metabolic markers, and the occurrence of a wide range of diseases.
